Melody Cesar

Clinical Director & Registed Social Worker
(BA, MSW, RSW)

Hello, I'm Melody, a therapist and registered Social Worker based in Treaty 6 Territory, Edmonton, with a multicultural background spanning Rwanda, Tanzania, and Germany.

I specialize in facilitating healing from trauma and assisting individuals in cultivating meaningful relationships.

As a therapist and master’s level social worker, I provide assessments and therapeutic interventions similar to psychologists and psychotherapists. I’m passionate about helping individuals who are breaking cycles of trauma learn how to heal and thrive. The majority of my practice focuses on supporting clients in understanding themselves, navigating relationships, and breaking intergenerational patterns within their families. Guided by a trauma-informed approach, my practice is rooted in an Intersectional Feminist, Anti-Racist, and Anti-Oppressive framework.

My mission is to create a space where individuals not only find solace but also feel truly seen and validated.

Each therapy session is tailored to meet your unique needs, utilizing techniques such as Eye movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Somatic Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, emotional regulation & processing skills, and mindfulness practices. In addition to my foundational training, I'm an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional.

Sessions are infused with values such as empathy, authenticity, and growth, accompanying clients on a transformative journey towards emotional well-being.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Psychology from the University of Alberta, a Certificate in Psychologically Safe Leadership, and am currently pursuing my Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) designation.

Beyond work, I find joy in spending time with my dog Louie, exploring new culinary experiences, and embracing the warmth of Edmonton's summer days.

Ines Cesar

Registered Social Worker

(BSW, MSW, RSW)

Hello my name is Ines Cesar (she/her). I am a registered social worker with a master’s degree with a specialization in clinical social work. I have been supporting people’s mental health in Edmonton for over twenty years. I am a settler on Treaty 6 Territory and I have ancestry from Africa and Europe, which lead me to speak six languages (including French, German and Swahili).

I love supporting people through the ups and downs of life’s challenges. I provide therapy for adults and adolescents (over 16 years old). I have experience working with people of very diverse backgrounds. I have also worked in the education system, the healthcare system and in the immigration sector.

I like to work collaboratively with my clients on a variety of issues such as: relationships, parenting, immigration, grief and loss, trauma, divorce, domestic violence and depression.

I create a safe space by using a strength-based approach that values people’s own resilience and cultural background.

I practice from a feminist, anti-racist and anti-oppressive viewpoint. I am trained in several modalities: Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, CBT, DBT, Family Systems Therapy, Mindfulness and EMDR.
