New Beginnings: EMDR Therapy Group for Grieving Parents
A 3-Week Healing Group for Those Navigating Life After the Loss of a Child
Losing a child is one of the most painful experiences a parent can face. The weight of grief can feel isolating, overwhelming, and deeply disorienting, especially when that loss is sudden or traumatic. This in-person (Edmonton) 3-week EMDR therapy group is designed to gently support parents who are grieving, offering a safe and structured environment to begin healing.
What to Expect
This group integrates EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) tools within a group setting to help regulate overwhelming emotions, reduce trauma symptoms, and process grief in a supportive, shared space. You’ll be guided by a trained therapist who specializes in both EMDR and grief work.

Each session includes:

-
A compassionate space to express and hold your grief
-
EMDR-informed tools to reduce emotional intensity and distress
-
Connection with other bereaved parents who understand this unique pain
-
Resources to support your healing between sessions, including a workbook with nature-based practices, journal prompts, and reflections

Who Is This For?
This group is for parents who have experienced the traumatic loss of a child and are looking for meaningful support. It’s especially helpful for those navigating:

-
Complex grief or acute trauma
-
Intrusive memories, anxiety, or emotional numbness
-
Feeling “stuck” in grief, even with previous support
